The congress will be held at the Faculty of Science and Technology, on the Leioa Campus of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), located 12km away from Bilbao, a city of around 350,000 inhabitants on the banks of the Nervión River. This village was founded around the year 1300.

In Bilbao for many years it dominated the industrial landscape but in the last 3 decades it has become a commercial city with a wide range of services for citizens. Here you can visit nice museums and emblematic buildings and enjoy the renowned gastronomy. Among its monuments, buildings, the Old Town with the 7 main streets stands out. There you can visit the Cathedral of Santiago, the Arriaga Theater or the La Rivera Market. In the new downtown you can walk along the Gran Vía de Don Diego López de Aro and walking along the river you can see emblematic buildings such as the City Hall, the Museums of Fine Arts and the Guggenheim, the Iberdrola Tower or the University of Deusto. To enjoy a panoramic view of the city there is no better place than the Artxanda viewpoint, which is easily reached thanks to the funicular.

In the surroundings of Bilbao you can visit other places of interest such as the Hanging Bridge between Portugalete and Getxo, which was declared a UNESCO heritage site in 2006, the hermitage of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, the Butrón Castle and the mining environments of Gallarta and La Grove. Nature offers unique routes along the coast such as the Barrika flish and through the mountainous interior walking towards the Salto del Nervión or the natural parks of Urdaibai, Urkiola and Gorbea.
